KASENENGWA Town Council has completed the construction of Chitali Bridge at a cost of K140,000.
The council’s public relations officer Kamela Ntambo Chibelo told Breeze FM in Chipata that the capital funded project that begun in April, 2020 has been completed and was ready for use.
And Makungwa ward councillor Alexander Miti said the Chitali Bridge would improve the living standard of people in his ward.
He said before the construction of the said bridge, people had faced hardships to cross to the other side.
Miti noted that school children would stop going to school during the rainy season because the nearest secondary school, Mboza Secondary School was across the bridge.
He said farmers were also facing challenges in transporting their farm produce to Katondo where the nearest Food Reserve Agency depot was situated.
He added that Chitali bridge was important links between Mishoro and Madzimawe Chiefdoms.
