thieves break into church, take a generator & other items

In the Barlastone neighborhood of Lusaka, TWO alleged criminals entered into a church and stole K45,000 worth of church property.

The event took place at the Generation of Faith Restoration Ministries Church in the Barlastone neighborhood on January 15, 2023 between 2:00 and 4:00.

A Yamaha keyboard, a hybrid mixer, an amplifier, one HP central processing unit, a laptop, a generator, and five cell phones, according to police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale, were among the things taken.

According to Mr. Mwale, the alleged criminals also attacked and critically hurt three church caregivers.

“The injured victims have been identified as Jimmy Mukonkani aged 28, Henry Musara aged 30 and Emilio Kalala aged 32. All sustained head injuries as stones are alleged to have been used in the act.

The victims were rushed to the hospital where two were treated and discharged while Emilio Kalala is still admitted,” he said.

According to Mr. Mwale, there are claims that the suspects were driving a silver Toyota Allion and a light truck.

He declared that inquiries into the situation have begun.
