Police in Kabwe have arrested three teachers and a Zambia Army Staff Sergeant of Chindwin involved in a fake recruitment scam.
Central Province Police Commissioner Chola Katanga says 119 youths which include 41 girls in their 20s paid between 5 and 7 thousand kwacha each with a view that they would be recruited in the Zambia Army.
Mr. Katanga explained that the incident happened on March 2 in Kapiri Mposhi at KPG area around 02; 00 hours as they were waiting to be taken for the alleged military training.
The Central Province Police Chief said the prospective recruits were found shelved bold head to commence the fake training.
He disclosed that the named teachers, two, were females and a male of Chindwin B. Primary School and a Staff Sargent of the same barracks.
The four have been charged for the offence of obtaining money by false pretense.
This is the second scam in a space of two months the first being in February where a retired Zambia National Service officer swindled youth over 400 thousand kwacha in a similar scam.
