Orlando Pirates duo Justin Shonga and Augustine Mulenga were named in the Zambian line-up, along with Sulani Phiri and Rodrick Kabwe.
Zimbabwe, meanwhile, fielded the likes of Evans Rusike, Ovidy Karuru, Teenage Hadebe and George Chigova.
Mulenga had the Zambians’ best chance of the half with an effort from distance that was saved by Chigova.
The Warriors took the lead shortly after the halftime break courtesy of an own goal from Isaac Shamujompa.
Zambia managed to level matters midway through the first half thanks to a strike from Shonga.
However, Zimbabwe restored their lead after 72 minutes with substitute Talent Chawapiwa finding the back of the net.
Zambia managed to level on 90 minutes thanks to a strike from Lazarus Kambole that sent the game to penalties, where Chipolopolo triumphed 5-4 to advance to the finals.
