Zambia now in the Semifinals of the 2018 COSAFA Cup

Zambia National Soccer Team on Saturday toiled their way to the 2018 COSAFA Cup semifinals following a post-match penalty victory over Namibia.

The match finished 0-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane with both sides wasting valuable chances.

But Zambia goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata stole the show that saw him make a late save in the 84th minute to deny Itamunua Keimuine from close-range to see Chipolopolo sigh with relief.

Nsabata went on to save one post-match penalty and converted Zambia’s third kick in the shootout.

Collins Sikombe, Jack Chirwa, Nsabata and Cletus Chota all converted for Zambia while Lazarus Kambole failed the third penalty.

For Namibia, Halleluiah Ketjijere saw his kick saved by Nsabata, Welwin Hanamub hit the woodwork but Emilio Martin, Denzel Hoseb and Keimuine converted but it was all in vain after Chama fired in the fifth for Zambia.

Zambia matches on to the June 6 semifinals where they await Madagascar or hosts Bafana Bafana who play their quarterfinals on Sunday.
