ZANEC Chief Executive Officer George Hamusunga says government should employ 15,000 teachers next year to ensure adequate distribution of teachers in schools countrywide.
Mr. Hamusunga says the demand for teachers has been exacerbated by the COVID -19 pandemic which requires segmenting pupils in small groups during physical lessons.
Meanwhile, Mr. Hamusunga has called on the government to come up with programs to sharpen the skills of teachers in Information Communication Technology-ICT for them to efficiently conduct remote learning sessions amid COVID-19.
He has however praised teachers for their dedication to their service despite the adverse effects of the pandemic.
