Across the past 24 hours, 10 new cholera cases have been reported in the nation.
According to ROMA CHILENGI, director general of the Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI), nine of the cholera cases were reported in the Eastern Province’s Vubwi District, while one case was reported in the Luapula province’s Mwansabombwe District.
This takes the total number of cholera cases reported in Vubwi to 57 and 26 in Mwansabombwe, according to Prof. CHILENGI.
Additionally, he disclosed that the nation has also noted the death of a 62-year-old male who is thought to have contracted cholera.
In a phone interview with ZNBC News, Prof. CHILENGI stated that his office strives to identify every case as quickly as possible.
Since then, he has urged individuals to seek medical attention as soon as they have symptoms.
