Prior to the start of the African Athletics Junior Championship this weekend, almost 700 athletes from 47 nations have gathered in the nation.
The athletes are in Ndola preparing for the beginning of the Championships, which will take place at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium from April 29 to May 3 of 2023, according to ELIAS MPONDELA, President of Zambia Athletics (ZA).
According to MPONDELA, who spoke to ZNBC News, the athletes will be housed in the districts of Ndola and Kitwe.
He adds that during the Congress meeting, which will also be an elective Annual General meeting, Zambia will support HAMAD KALKABA MALBOUM, the incumbent President of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA), to retain his position.
On April 26 and 27, the CAA Congress will begin in Lusaka.
