The Zambia Correctional Service (ZCS) has denied media allegations from a specific tabloid that claimed a suspect in the case of Pamela Chisumpa’s and 12 other people’s kidnapping had escaped from detention.
The agency has effective strategies in place to reduce escapes, according to ZCS Public Relations Manager GILLIAN NAMUNGALA.
Also, Ms. NAMUNGALA has reassured the public that all of the alleged kidnappers are secure and still in the public eye.
She stated in a statement that the Service has zero tolerance for escapes and a tough position on them in accordance with its strategic objectives.
Since then, Superintendent NAMUNGALA has urged the media to exercise caution when reporting on security-related matters since they may endanger existing investigations.
