Kaizer Zulu, a political advisor to former president Edgar Lungu, has been charged with a new offense just a day after he was initially detained and arrested on charges of assault and making threats of violence.
Police officially accused and detained Mr. Zulu, 52, of the Ibex Hill neighborhood yesterday on four counts of threatening violence.
According to reports, Mr. Zulu threatened to shoot and injure Benard Nshindu, Sengewayo Jere, Saul Masikote, and Manson Mweemba.
In addition, he was charged with and taken into custody for the attack of two people, Bernard Nshindu and Sengewayo Jere.
According to police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale, Mr. Zulu has also been detained and is facing charges of conversion that does not constitute theft in violation of Section 291 of Chapter 87 of the Penal Code.
He explained, “This involves a government-owned Toyota Land Cruiser VX with the license plate GRZ 759CL, worth K955,000, which was given to him while he was working at State House.
After he left his position, the vehicle, according to Mr. Mwale, was later hidden. Despite the government granting an amnesty to anyone holding on to official cars, it was only found by police on March 25, 2022.
