The 3.5 million dollars committed by US Vice President KAMALA HARRIS for women in mining, according to the Association of Zambian Women in Mining (AZWIM), will support their empowerment.
According to AZWIM President GRACE NJAPAU, the monies will provide women the opportunity to buy machinery and boost output.
According to Ms. NJAPAU, women would be encouraged to participate in mineral export and help scale up production, both of which will improve their quality of life.
She has also praised President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA for his ongoing encouragement of women to become involved in the nation’s development.
