In preparation for the 2023 African Youth Championships, which are scheduled to take place in Lusaka in April, Zambia’s national athletic team, led by coach Douglas Kalembo, plans to construct a strong roster.
According to KALEMBO, it is crucial for Zambia to field a strong squad as the hosts in order to win medals across a variety of categories.
He claims that the athletes who will compete will come from a variety of backgrounds, with the majority of them expected to be chosen during national youth sports festivals.
In an interview with ZNBC Sports News, KALEMBO claimed that Zambia has gifted athletes who will win medals in both the Under 18 and Under 20 divisions.
From April 19 to April 23, 2023, the African Athletics Youth Championships will take place.
