The recent assaults on people near the rail line have alarmed some Kamwala South and Chawama residents of Lusaka.
The existence of renowned gangs known as junkies has been blamed for the attacks by the locals.
In order to stop these attacks, they have urged the appropriate authorities to step up patrols in the neighborhood.
The people have been given the assurance that police will step up patrols in the area by Zambia Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, DANNY MWALE.
Mr. Mwale has asked the locals to notify the police any time they are attacked.
