On Monday, a TEAM of top American cardiologists is anticipated in the nation to provide a free cardiac test at the Morningstar Clinic in Lusaka.
Between February 27 and March 3, Healit Zambia and Morningstar Clinic will host American-based cardiologists to provide free cardiac screenings.
Dr. Sula Mazimba will serve as the team’s leader. A wide range of cardiac screening and examinations, including Electrocardiogram (ECG), Echocardiogram, stress tests, and other blood tests, will be included among the services provided. These are all designed to find irregular heart rhythms or other cardiac abnormalities.
“The screening is open to the public, and those seeking a second opinion on Cardiac conditions Heart Failure, Heart Transplant, Heart Conditions, Cardiomyopathy, Pulmonary Hypertension Treatment, among others.
“The tests will also check for cholesterol levels, high blood sugar levels, and other factors that increase the risk of heart diseases,” Healit Zambia head of marketing Mary Sikaneta said in a statement.
Heart health is a priority for Healit Zambia and Morningstar, and they’ve urged individuals to obtain frequent checkups, especially if they have serious risk factors like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or a family history of the condition.
Since then, the two medical centers have emphasized how early detection of suspected heart issues through cardiac screening can lead to quicker treatment and better results.
