The Eastern Province Education Officer, BRAINLEY MALAMBO, is pleased with how the headteachers of the schools that are close to the Malawian border responded to the cholera alert.
The schools shouldn’t let up, according to Mr. MALAMBO, because cholera is still present in neighboring Malawi.
He has asked school administrators and instructors to make sure that students follow the relevant cholera prevention recommendations.
In accordance with government policy, Mr. MALAMBO has also urged provincial schools to rigorously abide by the free education standards.
In an interview with ZNBC news in Chipata, Mr. MALAMBO emphasized that schools should permit parents to purchase school uniforms elsewhere in addition to from the establishments themselves.
