Police in Lusaka are looking for a Chinese national who is suspected of stealing K1,100,000 in cash from the home of his employer.
Ruan Chandan, a supervisor of the Max Beef Company in Chawama, according to Zambia Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale, is currently on the run.
According to Mr. Mwale, Chandan broke into the home where he had resided with his boss at around 14:00 hours.
“The suspect is alleged to have stolen the money from his employer identified as Ye Jianbin 47, also a Chinese national and owner of Max Beef Company. The money is said to have been stolen from the house on February 3, 2023 around 14:00 hours,”he said in a statement.
He said the suspect knew that the money was being kept in the house.
