Over a thousand recipients in the Gwembe District of Southern Province received emergency cash transfers totaling two million five hundred thousand Kwacha.
1,287 persons, according to Gwembe District Commissioner KILLIAN CHIKANDULA, have gotten the five months’ worth of arrears that the government owed them.
According to Mr. CHIKANDULA, the payment will significantly lessen the financial hardships individuals in Gwembe have been experiencing.
The District Commissioner stated in his remarks while attending an event where the payments were made that Emergency Cash Transfer payments would continue until all qualified recipients had been paid.
This is in accordance with a statement made to ZNBC News by COSWELL HANTUBA, the public relations representative for the Gwembe Town Council.
