Former West Ham and Partizan Belgrade assistant coach MARKO BARBUL and Chipolopolo icon MOSES SICHONE have been named to the Chipolopolo Coach AVRAM GRANT’s technical bench.
Goalkeeper coach DAVIES PHIRI, who is based in South Africa, resurfaces as a goalie trainer, along with video analyst OHAD EFRAT and new physical trainer JAMIE LAWRENCE.
Former Premier League player LAWRENCE served as the Jamaica National Team’s physical trainer.
Physiotherapist HENSLEY CHILIMBOYI and team doctor WESLEY NGONGO both kept their jobs.
The technical bench in Lusaka has begun collaborating with the local group of players.
EFAT, on the other side, spent time with Crystal Palace among other commitments, while BARBUL served as the temporary coach of the Israel National Team.
The preparations for the Group H home match against Lesotho on March 23 are proceeding according to FAZ interim General Secretary IVA LENGWE.
According to LENGWE, FAZ welcomes the technical bench members and has reason to think that, given their extensive expertise and impeccable credentials, they would turn around the Chipolopolo’s fortunes.
This is in accordance with a statement made by SYDNEY MUNGALA, manager of FAZ communications.
