Health Strategic Plan Is Unveiled In Zambia

ZAMBIA has been lauded as a future leader in regional and global health security by the United States Agency for International Development, or USAID.

This, according to USAID Mission Director PETER WIEBLER, is demonstrated by how ZAMBIA has distinguished itself in the struggle against COVID-19 and epidemics.

In LUSAKA yesterday night, Mr. WIEBLER made this statement at the unveiling of ZAMBIA’s One Health Strategic Plan, which runs from 2022 to 2026.

At the same event, ZAMBIA’s One Health Strategic Plan implementation requires coordinated efforts, according to British High Commissioner Nicholas Woolley.

Mr. WOOLEY stated that the recent donation of seven million KWACHA to help mitigate the consequences of floods is just one example of how BRITAIN is dedicated to assisting ZAMBIA’s health sector and in times of need.

Meanwhile, Zambia’s One Strategic Plan would act as a cornerstone for the country to achieve the global health security goal, according to Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health LACKSON KASONKA.

Among the dignitaries that attended the “One health Strategic Plan” was Dr. Anna Songolo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries.

The “One Health Strategic Plan” will include the prevention and treatment of diseases that not only impact humans but also animals and livestock.
