Prior to the African Junior Athletics tournament scheduled for Lusaka in April, significant renovation work is planned for the Youth Development Center and the National Heroes stadium.
The ultimate contractor to carry out the work has not yet been chosen, according to Sports Minister ELVIS NKANDU, who also reports that two foreign companies from Mauritius and South Africa have been nominated.
NKANDU expresses optimism that the project will be finished in the allotted month.
After seeing the two facilities this afternoon, NKANDU declared that the contractor must meet the deadline of February 28, 2023, established by the Confederation of African Athletics, in order for them to be ready for the April 2023 African Junior Athletics Championship in Lusaka.
