HH Calls For Trade Platforms To Be Digitized

African countries have been asked by President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA to harmonize legislation and digitise trade platforms so that the continent can reap the enormous benefits of technological innovation.

According to President HICHILEMA, the continent’s economies must digitise and employ technology more quickly if they are to prosper.

According to him, by adopting the use of various digital platforms, African nations will be able to trade efficiently and cut their operating expenses.

This was said by President HICHILEMA in Zimbabwe at the Transfer Africa Summit.

The president of Rwanda, PAUL KAGAME, added that it is regrettable that African nations are not utilizing the internet and technology to their full potential despite the fact that it is a game-changer.

In order to provide the populace the confidence to use technology and the internet, Mr. KAGAME, the Smart Africa Alliance’s chair, asked African nations to implement measures that reduce cybercrime.

In addition, host president EMMERSON MNANGAGWA urged African nations to pay serious attention to research and innovation since it will boost socioeconomic progress.

While this is going on, Malawi’s President LAZARUS CHAKWERA stated that Africa needs to develop strategies that will hasten the continent’s digitalization.
