PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has urged young people to stop gambling and betting more and to keep coming up with new ideas.
According to the head of state, success is a result of hard effort rather than luck, thus people should keep working hard via education and creativity.
Speaking on March 22, 2023, at State House during the Hakainde Hichilema Innovation Fund award ceremony, Mr. Hichilema noted that the odds of hard effort are better than those of betting and gambling.
“Young folks, please limit your time spent betting and gaming. Give your work more attention than to luck-seeking. You earn luck by putting in a lot of effort, he remarked.
He encouraged the relevant ministeries to make sure that they assisted in protecting the innovations of the youth through commercialization and copywriting.
Mr. Hichilema added that because young people are tomorrow’s and today’s leaders, the government will continue to promote their inventions.
