JOHNTONE CHIKWANDA, an energy expert, has suggested that ZESCO look into importing power from Mozambique in order to further cut back on load-shedding hours.
According to Dr. CHIKWANDA, the extra expense of importing power is insignificant in comparison to the consequences of not having it.
And Dr. Chikwanda asserts that for Zambia to fulfill commitments made by the private sector to engage in the energy industry, cost-reflective electricity pricing are a requirement.
At a press conference for journalists in Lusaka, he assured them that private sector investments will put an end to load shedding permanently.
