Mwinilunga District Council has received 2 million Kwacha from the Ministry of Lands for land development.
The Land Development Fund allocated to the council, according to DAPHNE CHABU, the Permanent Secretary for Lands, is for opening up new residential plots, roads, and drainages among other things.
Ms. CHABU is in the province of North Western to find out how the various councils there plan to use the funding.
Moreover, Jonathan Chinyimba, chair of the Mwinilunga District Council, is pleased that the local government has gotten the monies.
Mr. Chinyimba expressed gratitude for the government’s decentralization approach and promised to spend the funds responsibly.
