The athletes who will represent Zambia at the Commonwealth Youth Games in August have been given a three million Kwacha budget by the National Olympic Council of Zambia (NOCZ).
The sum, according to NOCZ- Secretary General Boniface Kambikambi, is necessary for the Zambian delegation to participate fully in the games scheduled for Trinidad and Tobago.
Seven participants have already received places, according to KAMBIKAMBI, although the number may rise given that three athletes from the special Olympics are set to join the group.
The three Special Olympics athletes, according to him, will be attending their qualifications in March, and should they succeed, they will join the team departing for the Commonwealth Youth Olympics.
All of the athletes scheduled to travel have resumed training with their various associations, according to KAMBIKAMBI,
From August 4 to August 11, the Commonwealth Youth Games will take place.
