The nation will start to suffer a maximum of six hours of energy load shedding on December 15, 2022.
According to Energy Minister PETER KAPALA, the action was taken as a result of low water levels at the nation’s largest hydroelectric facility, the Kariba Dam.
This was said by Mr. KAPALA in a ministerial statement made in the parliament regarding the hydrological condition of the Kariba Dam.
The remaining water for power at the Kariba will not be sufficient for power generation past mid-December 2022, according to Mr. KAPALA, assuming the existing power generation and subsequent water use continue.
