MacG named Entertainer of the Year at GQ Men of the Year Awards

Podcast & Chill’s MacG real name Macgyver Mukwevho was presented the Entertainer of the Year award at this year’s GQ Men of the Year Awards as seen in an Instagram post shared on Sunday, 3 December.

MacG received GQ’s Entertainer of the Year award over the weekend. This year marked the Men of The Year Awards being hosted for the fifth time, The Citizen reported. According to the publication, the award ceremony was hosted at Langhams, Fourways in Johannesburg. The awards are reportedly intended to pay homage to trailblazers who are shaping the cultural landscape and pushing boundaries in South Africa.

According to GQ, MacG is said to have taken the world by storm with his YouTube podcast, Podcast & Chill. Not only has it reached its first million subscribers, but it’s also said to be the “number one podcast in Africa”.Several prominent figures and celebrities have also reached the top of the social media trends list after having been interviewed in the podcast including Black Coffee, Julius Malema, Zola 7, and more

It is truly a “MacSeason” as one social media user said in the comment section. Earlier this year, the beloved podcaster went down on one knee and popped the big question to his long-term girlfriend in front of his fans live on stage at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria. He has also recently announced the launch of his Chillers Punch alcoholic beverage.
