A Kenyan court has punished a guy who sold potato chips cooked in filthy oil from a power transformer.
Elijah Mwangi Muthoga was detained in possession of 11 litres of the oil at a guesthouse he owns in Nyandarua County just over a year ago.
Now, he must serve a two-year prison term or forfeit 200,000 shillings ($1,570; £1,300) in fines.
Zachary Mwangi Gitau, the man found guilty of obtaining the oil for Muthoga by damaging a power transformer, received a harsher penalty of 10 years in prison or a 10 million shilling fine.
