SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE, Minister of Finance and National Planning, is meeting with mining investors in Cape Town, South Africa, in advance of the Investing in African Mining Indaba in 2023.
According to Dr. MUSOKOTWANE, his function at the Indaba is to reassure investors of government support and lend them political credence.
According to him, the government possesses substantial mining assets, such as Mopani, which have piqued the interest of numerous stakeholders. The government is working to connect investors with these assets.
According to the Minister, his initiatives support the government’s goal of boosting annual copper production to 3 million metric tons in 19 years.
According to him, more mining investments lead to more money for the Treasury, which is essential for social and economic growth. He made this statement to ZNBC News in Cape Town.
And according to DOLIKA BANDA, the chairperson of the ZCCM-IH Board, more mining players are showing interest in Zambia.
Because of Zambia’s advantageous location, Ms. BANDA claims she has had fruitful discussions with a variety of stakeholders interested in investing there.
About 15 businesses from across the world have shown interest in Mopani Copper Mines, but Ms. BANDA added that a transparent and thorough process must be followed.
