If exports of the product are not handled carefully, the nation runs the risk of exhausting its supplies of maize, according to Agriculture Minister REUBEN MTOLO.
Mr. MTOLO has issued a warning that millers that export maize without licenses risk legal action.
He adds that the government has also questioned why FRA has kept supplying millers with mealie meal despite reports of shortages in various areas of the nation.
In his response, Mr. MTOLO addressed a pressing issue brought up by Petauke Member of Parliament EMMANUEL BANDA.
He claimed that Zambia is the main supplier of maize to all of the surrounding nations.
