The trials for choosing the national squad have been finished by the Zambian Chess Federation (CFZ).
The final stage of the tryouts was held at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, according to Chess Federation of Zambia President LESLIE CHIKUSE. The ten-member squad was made up of five men and five women.
According to ZANIS Sports, CHIKUSE has since urged the chosen athletes to give it their all in order to elevate the nation.
LORITA MWANGS, MARIA BANDA, ANDREW KAYONDE, TIMOTHY KABWE, and JUSTINE DAKA are a few of the members of the national team.
The team chosen, according to him, will now compete as the Zambia National Chess Team.
According to CHIKUSE, the national team trials were held to encourage transparency in the national team selection process and guarantee that only deserving individuals would represent the nation this year in various tournaments.
