To enhance the delivery of extension services, the Northern Provincial Department of Agriculture has received 30 motorcycles.
Province Deputy Permanent Secretary LEWIS MWAPE stated that the government will continue to strengthen the officers by giving them a variety of working instruments when he presented the motorcycles to the Provincial Agriculture Office.
In order to ensure efficient and effective service delivery to farmers, Mr. MWAPE stated that extension officers need to be given the necessary training.
SYLVESTER NYENDWA, the provincial agriculture coordinator, added that the province confronts transportation issues because only 102 of the 172 extension camps have motorbikes.
