THREE alleged undocumented immigrants have been detained after police received tips from the general public.
According to a statement from police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale, officers raided a specific lodge on Bimbe Road, which is off the Great North Road in the Chaisa area.
This was after a tip-off from concerned members of the public that they were some prohibited immigrants at the lodge,” he said.
Officers hurried to the lodge, according to Mr. Mwale, and there they detained three suspects, Khadar Ahem Hasan, 26, Mohamud Osaian Mohamed, 28, and Ayub Oma, 40, all of whom were thought to be Somalis.
According to him, the suspects are being held by police while agents from the Department of Immigration decide what to do next.
