The United States of America’s Los Angeles-Lusaka Sister City Committee has donated $10,000 to the Chaisa Water Trust Board, which will be utilized to purchase five water tanks.
The project to give clean water to Chaisa Compound inhabitants in Lusaka is anticipated to benefit over 40,000 people.
The committee’s assistance to the residents of Chaisa and the city of Lusaka as a whole was hailed by Lusaka Mayor CHILANDO CHITANGALA as he accepted the funds on behalf of the Trust.
According to Ms. CHITANGALA, the donation has made it possible for the residents of Chaisa to have better access to clean water and sanitary facilities.
Moreover, EARNESTINE ROBERTSON, president of the Los Angeles-Lusaka Sister Committee, has vowed to keep assisting Chaisa Water Trust in its efforts to increase public access to water.
According to Dr. ROBERTSON, sister-to-sister relationships have contributed to a number of Lusaka-based initiatives in the fields of health and education.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles-Lusaka Sister Committee has received praise for the deed from Mandevu Member of Parliament CHRISTOPHER SHAKAFUSWA.
