The COMESA member states have been urged by vice president MUTALE NALUMANGO to make use of the FTA and advance intra-African commerce.
According to Mrs. NALUMANGO, the COMESA Free Trade Area offers enormous possibilities for African nations to trade with one another and expand the amount of goods and services they offer.
In her remarks at the beginning of the 43rd COMESA Council of Ministers Meeting in Lusaka, Mrs. NALUMANGO urged the member nations of COMESA to exploit the Free Trade Area to advance value addition and digitization.
The regional organization is leading the way in fostering regional integration, according to COMESA Secretary General CHILESHE KAPWEPWE.
As a means of fostering integration, Ms. KAPWEPWE said that several COMESA instruments have been adopted on the continent.
