Russian Warship With Missiles to Participate in SA Drills

According to a military source, the Chinese and South African fleets will participate in joint exercises with a Russian cruiser outfitted with hypersonic cruise missiles in February.

The Admiral Gorshkov will make a stop at the Tartus supply base in Syria before taking part in joint exercises with the South African and Chinese navies, according to the news agency.

The “Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov” frigate, which is armed with Zircon missiles, was mentioned for the first time in an official capacity.

The military of South Africa revealed on Thursday that combined military exercises with China and Russia will take place off its coast the following month.

The drills will take place in the port city of Durban and Richards Bay for ten days, from February 17 to February 27.

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) stated that the goal is to exchange operational expertise and experience.
