The general public has been admonished by the Securities and Exchange Commission to be wary of investment contracts, particularly those that promise exorbitant returns.
Chief Executive Officer of the Securities and Exchange Commission PHILIP CHITALU stated that the public had to be aware of a company that offers investment options.
At a media briefing in Lusaka, Mr. CHITALU said that the commission has started regular stakeholder engagement activities in partnership with its stakeholders to increase financial literacy and increase public awareness of capital markets.
And Mr. Chitaulu revealed that the total savings on Zambia’s capital markets rose by 3% in the first quarter of 2023.
He ascribed the three percent increase to the market’s performance index, the Lusaka All Share Index (LASI), which rose 6.82 percent.
