SYDNEY SIAME, a former silver medalist at the 2015 African Junior Athletics Championship, has urged local athletes to use Zambia’s hosting of the event as a stepping stone in their senior-level career preparation.
SIAME, who took home silver at the youth championship in Ethiopia eight years ago, advises competitors to race with a winning attitude because Zambia is hosting the event.
According to him, junior athletes must take advantage of every opportunity to train for tournaments at the senior level because junior careers are brief.
In an interview with ZNBC Sports News, SIAME stated that the nation has talented athletes who will bring home gold at the 2023 African Junior Athletics Championship, which will take place in Lusaka this April.
