Many goats in the Kawila area of Chief SINADAMBWE’s territory in the Siavonga district have died from an unidentified sickness.
RONALD HATONGO, the headman of Kawila village, revealed that several goat farmers in the region have reported a significant number of goats passing away from an unidentified sickness.
Since then, he has requested that the District Veterinary Department act immediately to resolve the issue.
Also, the department will conduct a disease surveillance exercise, according to Kawambwa Chomba, Siavonga District Assistant Veterinary Officer, who spoke to ZANIS.
The veterinary department apparently also conducted a sensitization program with goat farmers in Manchvwa inland, where the majority of the goats have reportedly also been dying, according to Mr. Chomba.
