The National Motor Rally Championship’s inaugural round this weekend is ready to go.
The TM Lubricants Rally will begin on Saturday with a qualifying stage at the Lusaka Show Grounds and move to the Zambezi Ranching and Cropping Farm in Chisamba on Sunday for the main rally.
The event now has 10 entries, with African Rally Champion LEROY GOMES one of them, according to Clerk of Course MARTIN MWITILA.
First rallies often draw few participants, according to SAM CHING’AMBU, president of the Zambia Motor Sports Association.
Themba Mukuka, general manager of TM Lubricants, notes that in addition to the event’s primary sponsorship, there is a proposal to start training future rally drivers.
