The Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority, or TEVETA, must strive to generate graduates of high caliber in order to satisfy the expectations of the economy, according to Science and Technology Minister FELIX MUTATI.
One of the difficulties the nation has, according to Mr. Mutati, is the delivery of high-quality goods.
Mr. Mutati expressed his concern about the delayed progress of the Center’s construction while giving a tour of the Annex building that is now under construction at the TEVETA examination Center.
He claimed that the government is struggling financially as a result of the initial building cost, which has already doubled.
And the director general of TEVETA, CLEOPHAS TAKAIZA, claimed that the country needs more TEVETA stores because demand has grown as a result of government support.
According to Mr. Takaiza, the current infrastructure is insufficient for holding classes and exams, therefore they have been able to use less-than-ideal locations elsewhere.
Additionally, ALEX SIMUMBA, Director of Vocational Education and Training for the Ministry of Science and Technology, stated that the Annex building will have enough exam rooms and the appropriate tools for the training.
