South African presenter and TV star, Thembisa Mdoda, will be hosting the hotly anticipated reunion for The Mommy Club. Showmax’s latest hit reality show has swept the country in 2023. The Mommy Club featured a cast of some of Mzansi’s most entertaining, lavish and lively mothers in what was an exciting first season for the show. The season finale left a lot of questions unanswered and viewers have been eagerly awaiting the reunion show which will hopefully provide some closure once and for all. We’ve just learned that the host for the reunion special will be none other than the talented Thembisa Mdoda.
Hosting a reunion special isn’t a simple task. On the one hand, viewers are dying for answers – especially those who followed The Mommy Club in its entire first season. On the other hand, as a host you need to balance the personalities on the cast and make sure to mediate if tensions rise, which they almost certainly do! With that in mind, you need an accomplished pro to be able to handle the job and in Thembisa Mdoda, the crew have identified just the right person.
Speaking in a press release, the former Our Perfect Wedding host expressed her delight at landing the coveted gig. She said, “As a mom, I jumped at the opportunity to host The Mommy Club reunion. I have always wanted to host a reunion so the fact that it came to me after all these years, with a show I truly love, is a blessing.
Like we’ve said, hosting a reunion show requires a certain amount of tact from a host. Judging by her words, Thembisa Mdoda has clearly done her research and is prepared for what may come.
She mentioned in the press release, “My approach to hosting the reunion is simple. I am already a fan of the show so I am going to tackle all the topics, even the hard-hitting ones, but I am going to do it gently. I too am a mom, and I understand some of the struggles moms face. I am not here to judge the ladies; I am here to listen and make sure that everything is put on the table.”
The reunion looks like it’s going to be a fiery affair that viewers won’t want to miss. You can watch Thembisa Mdoda as she hosts the Reunion Special of The Mommy Club on Showmax from the 5th of December.
