A lady traditional healer has been detained by police in Luapula Province’s Kawambwa District on suspicion of murdering her patient, who passed away while receiving treatment.
According to legend, the traditional healer known as GETRUDE CHAMA tattooed SYLVESTER KABUSWE and applied powder on his body, causing him to quickly lose his breath and pass away.
Both the deceased and the traditional healer reside in Messenger Compound in the Kawambwa District and are relatives.
GLORIA MULELE, the commanding officer of the Luapula Provincial Police, verified the death and added that when officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a pot of medicine that had been used by the healer.
The traditional healer is being remanded in detention as the investigation into the alleged murder case continues, according to a statement made by Ms. MULELE to ZNBC News.
The deceased’s remains has been placed in the mortuary of the Kawambwa District Hospital.
