The attempted abduction of a 17-year-old student with albinism occurred at the Sefula combined School, not the church-run Sefula Secondary School, according to the United Church of Zambia.
The United Church of Zambia Sefula Secondary School, as the church has clarified, is distinct from the Sefula Combined School for the Visually Impaired, where the incident is said to have taken place, according to the church.
This was stated by the general secretary of the United Church of Zambia, CHIPASHA MUSABA, to ZNBC News in Lusaka today.
Since then, Reverend MUSABA has reassured the general public, in particular the parents and guardians of students at the school, that UCZ-managed educational institutions aim to offer top-notch instruction to all Zambian people.
He added that the UCZ has been offering students in Zambia of various racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic statuses high-quality, reasonably priced education for more than 125 years.
Police reported on Monday that they had stopped a scheme in Mongu where people were trying to sell a 17-year-old man who has albinism.
In this case, police have detained 12 people.
A pupil from Sefula Combined School for the Blind is the casualty.
