Government is embracing sport as a weapon for economic development, according to sports minister ELVIS NKANDU.
According to NKANDU, the government is encouraging athletes to work harder and pursue sports as a career.
At the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge Awards Ceremony in Lusaka, NKANDU urged sports stakeholders to make sure that their endeavors are sustainable in a speech delivered on his behalf by Sports Permanent Secretary KANGWA CHILESHE.
The board chair of Zambia’s National Olympic Committee, SIMANGOLWA SHAKALIMA, meanwhile, urged athletes to use the available platform to advance their careers.
