A 23-year-old mother from the Luano District’s Ndashe Village hanged herself while toting a child on her back.
The woman was identified as GOODNESS LOLE by Central Province Police Commanding Officer DAVID CHILESHE. It is said that she tied herself up in her living room using a chitenge wrapper.
According to Mr. Chileshe, the one-year-old child who was weeping and clinging to her mother’s back alerted everyone to the suicide.
She did not leave a suicide note, according to the Central Provincial Police Commanding Officer, hence the cause of her suicide is unknown.
