In connection with the theft of fertilizer valued at 266,000 Kwacha under the Farmer Input Support Program, police have detained three individuals.
Two trucks carrying 600 bags of D-Compound and urea fertilizer were headed for the Muchinga province’s Lavushimanda area.
The arrests have been confirmed by Central Province Commissioner of Police, DAVID CHILESHE, who also stated that two more people thought to be the masterminds remain on the run.
According to Mr. CHILESHE, the vehicles transporting the fertilizer were stopped in Kabwe and then diverted.
All of the suspects, he claimed, are from the Chisamba district.
247 bags of the fertilizer have so far been found by the police.
