After breaking into a Shoprite store in Kitwe, where he was discovered enjoying a bottle of beer and some polony, a 25-year-old man who is thought to be mentally ill was apprehended by the police.
Around 1:00 a.m., the suspect, Zebron Mbazima, is accused of breaking into the business on Matuka Avenue.
Copperbelt commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba claimed that Mr. Mbazima broke the door open with a paving brick before entering the store and ordering some drinks.
“Police officers who arrived on the incident saw the suspect still inside the business, consuming Mirinda drink and drinking Castle Lite beer while eating polony. The culprit was captured by police with the help of the shop’s management and is being held in prison, the officer said.
According to Mr. Mweemba, the shop manager, Priscila Chinula, 48, reported the incident to the police.
He added that inquiries into the case had been launched in order to determine the suspect’s mental state.
