Ivory Coast, which will host the 2023 AFCON, defeated Comoros island Friday night by the score of two to one.
With the win, they now have 10 points from four games and are in first place in the group. Zambia, which defeated Lesotho on Sunday, is second with 9 points, and Comoros Island is third with 3.
Yet with just two games left before the qualifying campaign comes to a close, Zambia and Comoros are in a tie for first place, with the latter having an advantage because Ivory Coast has already qualified by virtue of serving as hosts.
After missing three editions of the largest Men’s Football Showpiece, Zambia will just need one point from either the Ivory Coast or Comoros matchup.
