The Federation of Free Trade Unions of Zambia (FFTUZ) has asked for the creation of legislation to prevent politicians from using civil officials as go-betweens for the theft of public funds.
According to Secretary General VICTOR MUYUMBA, some state workers become involved in financial irregularities as a result of instructions they receive from politicians to approve payments on questionable projects.
But, Mr. Muyumba has urged public employees not to voluntarily succumb to the urge to steal from the government.
He was speaking to ZNBC News during an interview in LUSAKA.
